A librarian in a previous life, I’ve transitioned my focus from information to data management to data skills. My career in research data management-related roles spans more than ten years. 

I currently lead the Skilled Workforce Development team at the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC). My role is to manage a program that drives a nationally coordinated approach to skills and training initiatives targeting key areas of the workforce that conduct, underpin, and enable data-intensive research.

My role is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing a range of initiatives that facilitate and support best practices in the provision of digital research skills (data, platforms, software & infrastructure) supporting Australian research communities and institutions. Current focus for the ARDC Skilled Workforce Development team includes finding a sustainable model to maintain and further develop the Digital Research Skills Australasia training portal (DReSA) in partnership with other stakeholders, designing and developing shareable national skills materials, building national skills communities and working with digital research training communities to map the national digital research skills landscape.
