I'm currently a strategic communications consultant specializing in the fields of health care, health policy, medicine and clinical research. I recently returned to the consultancy I established in 2009 after spending eight years as communications director at the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute, a private, non-profit funder of comparative clinical research. Previously, I served as editor at large at the American Journal of Preventive Medicine and held senior communications, publishing, and editorial positions at the New York Academy of Sciences, the Commonwealth Fund, Medscape, the Journal of the American Medical Association, and the University of Chicago Medical Center. I began my career as a writer and editor/editorial manager at United Press International.
